“The wood in the fireplace mantle is itself somewhat special. It’s birds eye maple. Here it’s combined with standard straight-grained maple, to create an attractive contrast.”

“I like the design because it has shelves and little cupboards where I can display the treasures I’ve collected over the years. The design of our room included an alcove, which is actually a dressing area for me and a little office where I can plan my day. I have two closets for my clothes adjacent to the alcove.”
