Maud’s Room

Robert Marvin

“These rooms are for my niece who is now twenty-six. Both my brother and his wife had died by the time Maud was a teenager. She is a lovely young woman and we wanted to make these rooms as welcoming as we could. The fireplace here, for example, is figured birch. It is the same wood, that was used in the Sitting Room fireplace downstairs.”

Elizabeth Marvin

“She has a lot of friends, but a young man named William seems to be a special friend. She may be getting married one of these days, we just don’t know. However, we would love to host a reception for her here, as we did for her sister. As it happens, she is only five years younger than I am and we have become fast friends”

“Please come with us across the way.”
